**Position Description: **
Prepares, analyzes, negotiates, interprets and communicates information from complex legal documents pertaining to employee benefits, leases, licenses, service contracts, software, and other agreements.
Analyze, prepare, review, maintain, and/or process complex contracts, records, related legal documents.
Utilize discretion and judgment, research and interpret legal documents to ensure compliance with contract terms, and state and federal regulations. Ensure compliance with all company standards, tariffs, policies, and procedures including meeting insurance and cybersecurity requirements to satisfy company risk management matrix.
Negotiate contract terms and provisions as required.
Utilize contract administration software in daily work, maintain computer database and imaging systems for agreements and related documentation. Utilize independent decision making to recommend and approve system improvements as needed.
Provide information, guidance, and assistance to customers, attorneys, company and contract personnel relative to rights, obligations, and ownership.
Compile and analyze reports to management, attorneys, and other company personnel.
Prepare and maintain all necessary approvals, waivers, contractor information, leases, permits, right-of-way agreements, and other legal documents.
Provide training and guidance to ONE Gas personnel on database and imaging systems.
Regular and reliable attendance is required in performance of job.
Employee may be required to perform additional duties as assigned..
**Position Requirements: **
**STRONGLY PREFERRED FOR THIS POSITION: **
Paralegal, right-of-way or other relevant legal experience
Formal education or combination of education and relevant experience
Solid communication and interpersonal skills
Formal education to include a combination of courses such as math, accounting, business communication, business law, contract law and the following job-related experience:
Experience and thorough knowledge of working with complex contracts, and industry and governmental regulations
Working knowledge of assigned assets, leases, contracts related to employee benefits, and Information Technology contracts.
Experience with application of basic math and algebraic formulas used in various spreadsheet applications.
Knowledge and experience of recording requirements of legal documents.
Experience in use and function of tools and equipment applicable to position including computers, databases and imaging systems, and spreadsheet and word processing software.
Knowledge and training relative to (as specified by position):
Contract law and/or contract preparation
Business communications
Legal terminology
Records maintenance
Insurance coverages and Certificates of Insurance
Data management systems
DOT and Operator Qualification with respect to pipelines
Construction projects
Experience reading and interpreting documents, contracts, leases, industry and governmental regulations, forms, manuals, publications, and correspondence.
Experience conducting internal and/or external research and preparing contracts, records, payments, legal descriptions, land/property records, reports, and correspondence.
Experience interacting, negotiating, and communicating effectively.
Demonstrated ability to read and write fluently in English.
Minimum Applicable driver's license
Mobility to travel in and around office surroundings and to other business locations.
Communicate and/or exchange information or instructions.
Visual abilities sufficient to perform job duties.
