If you are interested in joining our culture, we’re looking for a PRN Histotech for our Pathology Department located at New Albany office locations. Must have previous experience working in a pathology lab and ASCP certification is preferred.

Snapshot of Daily Duties:

Precisely and accurately perform a variety of routine and specialized histology techniques and procedures, including specimen accessioning, grossing (prosecting), microwave tissue processing, embedding, microtomy, performing special stains, operating H&E autostainer, and operating instrumentation for immunohistochemical stains.

Receive and accession tissue specimens and prepares specimens processing.

Cut thin sections and stains according to established procedure for routine and special stains.

Coverslip and label finished slides for review by the Pathologist.

Maintain equipment, instruments, and cleanliness of working area.

Grossing biopsies.

Comply with OSHA and regulatory requirements by following established procedures in order to maintain a safe laboratory environment and to meet all accreditation standards.

Accession specimens, including assigning case numbers to pathology specimens, verifying specimen jars correspond to the pathology requisition, and operating the cassette printer.

Prepare precision cuts (sections) using a microtome.

HT(ASCP) certification preferred, ASCP certification required.

Two (2) years experience in an accredited anatomic pathology laboratory.

Ability to work later afternoon schedule.
