Snapshot of Daily Duties
- Routine follow-up visits in the office.
- Urgent follow-up visits in the office.
- Urgent and provider requested consults and new patient visits.
- G-tube changes.
- Hemorrhoid banding (after training).
- Large volume paracentesis (as permitted).
- Communicate patient care activities to the physician (visit notes/test results).
- Collaborate with physicians in managing acute and long-term medical needs of patients.
- Order appropriate medication, laboratory, and diagnostic procedures.
- Administer medications and injections.
- Interview and advise patients regarding health and illness prevention.
- Triage patient telephone calls and provide consultation.
- Provide monitoring and continuity of care between physician visits.
- Perform a physical exam and records findings.
The Must Haves
- Registered Nursing license as well as degree level required by each state to obtain NP license.
- Graduate of an accredited program and board certified with prescriptive authority.
- Strong interpersonal skills are a must, knowledge of billing services is required, understands the various responsibilities physician/NP/Patient relationship.
- Successful completion of a Nurse Practitioner program with certification by a national Nurse Practitioner certification board.
- Three (3) years professional nursing experience in a clinic or hospital setting.
