Overview:
One Hat One Hand is looking to fulfill a position of Shop Assistant/Runner is an on-call, entry-level position at One Hat One Hand. It is an entry level position, with room to advance upwards both into our Facilities Department, or into our Fabrication Department.
Position in Organization:
- Reports To:Facilities Manager, Production Manager
Primary Responsibilities:
- Support Facilities Team with ongoing internal projects, including light construction, demolition, building maintenance, dump runs, inventory, tool check-out, etc.
- Acts as Runner for projects requiring pick ups or drop offs
- When needed, assists in fabrication, installation, truck loading and transportation for projects
- Keep shop clean and organized
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Understanding of hand tools and power tools
- Some construction experience or education
- Current CA Class C driver's license in good standing
- Ability to drive Forklift, Large Box-Truck
- Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills
- A smartphone to handle communications on our internal channels

PHYSICAL DEMANDS / ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS
- Ability to lift 50 pounds, to carry equipment and supplies as needed
- Outdoor Work on Occasion
- Indoor warehouse environment with moderate to extremely loud noise
- Understands the responsibility of protecting oneself and crew from hazardous/toxic materials by using safety equipment such as skin, eye, hearing and breathing protection.
