Position Overview:
We are seeking a Dialysis Charge Nurse to join our dynamic team and lead our nursing staff in providing exceptional care to our patients. Key Responsibilities:
Leadership: Provide leadership and direction to the nursing team, ensuring that staff members are motivated and working effectively to deliver the highest quality care.
Patient Care: Coordinate and oversee the delivery of dialysis treatment to patients, monitor their condition, and respond to any changes promptly.
Clinical Expertise: Maintain a deep understanding of nephrology, renal care, and dialysis procedures, ensuring the highest standards of care are met.
Training and Development: Facilitate staff training, development, and continuing education to maintain a highly skilled and knowledgeable nursing team.
Quality Assurance: Monitor and enforce adherence to all applicable policies, procedures, and regulations to maintain patient safety and quality of care.
Collaboration: Work closely with the medical team, including nephrologists, dietitians, and social workers, to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Documentation: Maintain accurate and complete patient records, as well as clinical documentation, to meet legal and regulatory requirements.
Patient Advocacy: Act as a patient advocate, ensuring that patient needs are met, and concerns are addressed promptly and professionally.
Communication: Foster a positive and open communication environment among the nursing staff, patients, and other healthcare providers.
Emergency Response: Be prepared to respond to emergencies, including but not limited to cardiac arrest, adverse reactions, and equipment malfunctions, following established protocols.
Qualifications:
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of New York.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Certification in Nephrology Nursing (CNN) is a plus.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in dialysis nursing, with leadership experience preferred.
- Strong clinical skills and knowledge of renal care and dialysis procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond to emergency situations effectively.
