Job Title: Accounting Intern
Department: Corporate Operations - Finance and Accounting
Reporting Location: Seattle/Madison
Pay: $25/hr
The Position
The Accounting Intern, is responsible for assisting in the day to day review of purchase requisitions, tracking down appropriate approvals, input of vendor invoices and reconciliation of accounts payable information within our internal system.
Responsibilities:
- Data entry of purchase requisitions/requests into Sage Intacct accounting system
- Review project related purchase requisitions for completeness and proper approval
- Communicate with team members throughout company to obtain any missing information or questions requested of accounting regarding purchase requisitions and/or approval
- Assign appropriate general ledger account coding to corporate purchase requisitions and review account coding for project related purchase requisitions
- Communicate with accounting team as to any unusual issues related to accounts payable/purchase requisitions
- Light problem solving within purchase requisition and accounting system related to accounts payable
- Help with some accounting reconciliation as requested

- Very detail-oriented and discipline to review own work consistently

- Willingness to ask questions
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Strong communication skills (oral and written)
- Committed to excellence in repetitive tasks
- Self-motivated
- Ability to understand process and expectations in order to identify items that are unusual or fall outside the norm
- Quick learner
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelors or Masters level accounting, business, or related program.
- Must have a “roll up your sleeves and let’s get the job done right” type attitude
- Demonstrated qualities of integrity, credibility, and professional responsibility
