Job Summary
We are seeking an innovative Electrical Draftsperson/Designer to join our manufacturing team and contribute to our solution-driven business model. From day one, the Electrical Draftsperson will collaborate with various business units to design and innovate enclosures for our clients, both nationally and internationally. This position involves using computer-aided design software to create and design technical drawings, products, equipment, and structures.
Responsibilities:
- Apply engineering fundamentals to design problems and develop innovative enclosures in 3D CAD.
- Prepare comprehensive documentation for all electromechanical designs, including Boxes, enclosures, and connections, bill of materials, assembly drawings, design changes, and reports to ensure that installation and operations conform to standards and customer requirements.
- Modify machinery for new model introductions, safety, or quality improvements.
- Write detailed equipment specifications for the procurement of manufacturing equipment.
- Evaluate vendors' bids and drawings to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Communicates equipment design to clients and other design disciplines.
- Reviews and approves design drawings for assigned segments of a project.
- May participate in reviews of Process Flow Diagrams and Piping and Instrument Diagrams.
- Adequate understanding of GD&T standards.
- Participates in the preparation of design guides, guide specifications, and contract
- Participates in plant start-ups and field assignments as required.
- Participates in equipment inspections at vendors' facilities.
- Work in a collaborative team environment with marketing, project management, quality, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, agency/safety teams, and global manufacturing operations.
Requirements and Skills:
- Preferred two to three (2 - 3) or more years of direct experience in mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, will look at new graduates as well.
- Formal training and education may be considered in place of direct experience.
- A class A CDL with hazmat endorsement will be required within the first year of employment. OneH2 will provide reasonable accommodation and reimbursement for the training and certification process.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds on a regular basis unassisted.
- Knowledge of lift truck operation and applications is highly preferred.
- General mechanical aptitude is required.
- Proficiency in computer and software systems relevant to the position, including but not limited to Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook, is necessary.
