Transportation Construction Engineer or Technician

Oneida Engineering Solutions (OES) is an 8(a) and minority business enterprise (MBE) that provides engineering, environmental, science, and specialized professional services solutions for customers nationwide.

OES has an immediate opening for a Transportation Construction Technician in our Greater Chicago office. We are seeking a highly motivated individual to work in Northeastern Illinois on current and future IDOT, Illinois Tollway or other local agency roadway and bridge construction projects. This full-time position will be responsible for construction oversight/inspection, materials documentation and testing, field measurements, daily diary entries, and completion of final construction documentation.

This position has strong opportunities for growth and advancement as we continue to grow our transportation engineering business line in Northern Illinois. We encourage highly motivated technicians that have a strong interest in advancing in the area of transportation engineering and construction inspection to apply. Candidates with surveying or construction staking experience are also encouraged to apply.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Two summers/years field construction inspection experience working with Illinois Tollway, Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT), or other state DOT.
• Valid driver's license
• Proficient oral and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Associate degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management
• E-Builder Certification and IDOT Documentation of Contract Quantities Certification
• Experience using Civil 3D, AutoCADD or Microstation
• Established relationships with IDOT or Illinois Tollway consultants and staff
• History of steady career advancement
• Experience working with Microsoft Suite

Compensation Range:

$55,000- $70,000
