Medical Records Review Process
1.Establishes and maintains professional relationships with all key personnel within the Health Information Systems Departments of designated hospitals.
2.Establishes a routine for obtaining all death lists on a consistent basis for the assigned hospitals within the designated service area.
3.Prepares Medical Record reviews (for assigned hospitals), according to policy which includes and is not limited to the following:
- Identifies reports exclusions with appropriate criteria and indicates the records requiring an actual medical record review.
- Reconciles the Hospital Death list with OneLegacy to determine total number of deaths.
- Includes missing referrals not populated on the OneLegacy reports to the summary of charts requiring an actual medical record review.
- Provides medical record review to the assigned Donation Development Coordinator (DDC) and Donation Development Manager (DDM) to initiate an on-sight review.
4.Documenting within digitalDONOR according to policy; and documenting uploading to the Hospital profile with digitalDONOR according to policy.
Job Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree (BS) from an accredited four-year college or university, completion of Surgical Technologist, EMT program, or LVN program with state certification is required.
Experience:A minimum of 2 years of previous medical records experience and/or medical or health science background preferred.
Certification & License:
OneLegacy requires employees to maintain a current California driver’s license and current vehicle insurance based on California minimum insurance coverage standards.
Equipment: Reliable automotive transportation required. Must have working knowledge of a personal computer, multi-line telephone system, fax machine, photocopier, postage machine and calculator.
Pay Range: $20.04 - $29.05
