Job Summary:

Duties:
· Prepare and implement LOTO energy isolation plans and control documents to mitigate hazards which include:
o shutting down equipment
o isolation from its energy source(s)
o preventing the release of potentially hazardous energy while maintenance and servicing activities are being performed
The LOTO document would contain definitive criteria for establishing an effective program for the control of hazardous energy.
· Coordinate site LOTO-related activities in the affected work areas with all parties.
· Conduct training sessions on LOTO energy isolation plans for all affected personnel.
· Perform daily LOTO tailboards; explain any changes to the system and address questions.
· Maintain records of all site LOTO-related activities and training sessions.
· Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance with LOTO procedures.
· Promptly address any safety or environmental concerns by reporting them to the Facility Manager or designated person(s).
· Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and suggest process enhancements.
Abilities:
· Ability to drive project success with a focus on EHS, quality, schedule, and budget.
· Previous demonstrated experience in developing and implementing lockout/tagout procedures. Construction and/or Maintenance & Reliability experience.
· Proficient in reading and interpreting P&IDs
· Read and understand mechanical, electrical and piping drawings
· Proficient technical and operational knowledge of safety regulations and standards.
· Strong communication and training skills with the ability to influence others to prioritize safety.
· Collaborative team player with a customer- and people-oriented approach, accountable, and solution-driven.
· Proactive mindset in anticipating challenges and delivering strategic problem-solving solutions.
· Fully computer literate with proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office.
· Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, in English in a team environment.
Other Essential Functions:
Candidate must be physically able to perform the following essential functions as part of the LOTO work:
· Intermittent sitting, walking, standing, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, twisting, and lifting
· Lifting requirements limited to 20 lbs. in the form of supplies, drawings, etc.
· Hand manipulation is required for simple grasping, pushing and pulling, and fine manipulation
· Occasional need to reach and/or work above and below the shoulder
· Must be alert to equipment in the field
· Occasional need to work near hazardous equipment and machinery
· Occasional need to walk on uneven ground
· Occasional exposure to fumes, exposure to noise, extremes in temperature or humidity, and potential work at heights
Qualifications:
· High school diploma or GED required; associate degree in chemical engineering technology or related field preferred.
· Minimum of [X] years of experience as a chemical plant operator.
· Proven experience with Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
· Strong understanding of chemical processing equipment and control systems.
· Ability to read and interpret technical documents, such as P&IDs (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams) and equipment manuals.
· Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
· Good communication and teamwork skills.
· Ability to work in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment.
· Willingness to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
Schedule:
- 10 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
