Our Network Operations team works around the clock running United's global operation, safely, reliably, and efficiently. From dispatching and routing our fleet to coordinating with maintenance line planning and crew scheduling, this team makes caring connections with our internal customers and ultimately, United's customers. From pushback to landing, the Network Operations team is the eyes and ears on the ground no matter where in the world your United flight takes you.
Key Responsibilities: The Director will lead a team of safety professionals in collaborating with all operational groups within the NOC to identify safety hazards and implement tailored mitigations depending on the level of risk. They will be the principal leader responsible for engaging safety stakeholders to include Federal and industry partners. Responsible for regulatory inquiries, disclosures and investigations involving airline operations. Will develop strategy, feedback, and resolution processes between all operating groups within the NOC. Maintains oversight of the Network Operations Safety Management System and regulatory commitments.
- Develop strategy for ensuring compliance with all federal regulations and the overall safety of the Network operations division.
- Leads a team of safety professionals in identifying hazards and assisting in implementing mitigations.
- Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders (AO, FO, IF, FAA, IOSA, DOD)
- Directs the safety assurance process and the team responsible for documentation of results.
- Monitors corrective action commitments and implementation.
- Conduct special emphasis analysis of Network Operations systems and programs based on previous audits, FAA enforcement action, ASAP reporting.
- Responsible for the analysis of risk and establish reporting criteria for senior leadership to understand risk and direction of mitigations.

QualificationsWhat's needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications): - Undergraduate degree in technical, safety, or aviation related discipline or equivalent work experience
- 5 years' experience as a leader in an airline operational setting
- 5 years' experience with a major passenger airline, cargo, or regional carrier in Flight Operations, Dispatch, Load Planning, Safety or Airport Operations
- 10 years' experience in quality, safety, and regulatory operations
- Working knowledge of all or some of the following
- Pertinent Federal Aviation Regulations
- FAA Advisory Circulars
- ICAO Annexes 1, 6, 8, and 18
- IOSA Standards and Recommended Practices
- Operations Specifications
- Department of Defense Quality and Safety requirements
- Must have working knowledge of principles of quality and compliance.
- Demonstrated direct interaction with Federal Aviation Administration
- Strong leadership skills in modeling character, thinking creatively, delivering results, and fostering teamwork.
- High attention to detail
- Excellent time management, decision-making and organizational skills
- Technical skills using software such as Microsoft Teams, Word, Excel, etc.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship.
- Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification.
- Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position.
