The Challenge

The Chief Ethics and Compliance Officer (CECO)  is primarily responsible for two areas at OneTrust:

  • OneTrust’s Chief Ethics and Compliance Office – delivering a best in class Global Ethics and Compliance program that showcases how Trust, Integrity and Culture can align with purpose, accelerate growth and create competitive advantage. 
  • OneTrust's Ethics and Compliance Center of Excellence (COE) – the COE is customer and community facing and requires thought leadership, strong networking skills and global regulatory experience and credibility. The COE also works closely with product team to create product content and shape product priorities.

The CECO is a proven and recognized leader in the field who is comfortable shaping and sharing best practices, and driving thought leadership in the ethics and compliance profession.  Reporting to the Chief Legal and Business Officer, the CECO manages OneTrust’s ethics and compliance team. Key responsibilities including designing and overseeing OneTrust’s ethics and compliance program, shaping the product content agenda and strategic communications, delivering compelling insights and effective guidance to the product team and customers.

Your Mission

  • Build, manage and develop OneTrust’s ethics and compliance team
  • Provide periodic board updates on the state of ethics and compliance at OneTrust
  • Produce executive education content for the Ethics and Compliance office
  • Research trends in compliance and ethics, and produce insightful and actionable thought leadership content for OneTrust focused on the business value of ethics and compliance; this content may be delivered through written and speaking sessions  
  • Drive the creation of a market leading ethics and compliance literacy program to aid customers on the people and process side of succeeding with ethics and compliance  
  • Provide customer and prospect facing support to educate on best practices  
  • Contextualize and deliver enterprise compliance spending forecasts and other quantitative analysis for customers   
  • Develop must-have qualitative research around market trends and competitive landscapes for the ethics and compliance market   
  • Drive compelling interactions via inquiries, remote and in-person briefings, and conferences on a broad variety of ethics and compliance topics, targeting business leaders in customer and prospect organizations.  
  • Keep abreast of policy developments that have a significant global impact on the ethics and compliance market
  • Provide sales support by engaging with prospective and existing clients virtually or face-to face and by delivering impactful insight based on client needs  
  • Become a regular commentator to media following major ethics and compliance events  
  • Manage relationships with key organizations and event partners  
  • Work closely with the social media and communications team to appropriately amplify thought leadership activities

Your Experience Includes:

  • Bachelor's degree in business or law; Master’s or JD preferred
  • Minimum 10 years of compliance and/or business leadership experience, and 5 years of ethics experience
  • A proven track record of developing policies and procedures, and successful program execution.
  • Extensive knowledge of business risk, risk assessment and risk-based decision making.
  • Substantial experience in the ethics and compliance space, credible with customers as an expert and thought leader
  • Demonstrated skill in proactively building relationships with customers, media and event partners, and industry organizations
  • Strong quantitative and qualitative analysis, writing, data visualization and presentation skills
  • Communication skills as evidenced by prior work experience presenting to or advising senior executives, investors, boards, or industry peers
