Responsibilities:
- Provide direct care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities
- Assist with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and meal preparation
- Administer medications and monitor vital signs as directed by healthcare professionals
- Implement behavior management strategies to promote positive behaviors and reduce challenging behaviors
- Assist individuals with community integration and participation in recreational activities
- Document individual progress, behaviors, and any incidents or accidents that occur
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for individuals
Experience:
- Previous experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred
- Knowledge of behavior management techniques and strategies
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Experience working in a nursing home or similar setting is a plus
Skills:
- Valid driver's license and ability to transport individuals to appointments or activities
- Ability to lift and transfer individuals who may require assistance (heavy lifting)
- Proficient in using computer systems for documentation purposes
