What are the responsibilities and job description for the Controller position at ONG Human Capital?
We are looking for a Controller to oversee all facets of our daily accounting and controllership activities as we look to build, grow, and expand our business nationwide. The ideal candidate will be hands on, detailed oriented, understands processes and procedures, and would love the challenge of being part of a team that grows and expands our accounting and financial reporting capabilities. This person will work closely with AR/Collections, AP, Payroll, and the rest of the organization to ensure accounting information is recorded accurately & timely to meet our needs. Depending on experience this person will have direct responsibility for some or all the above functions.
Duties/Responsibilities:
1. Prepares and/or approves general journal entries, as required.
2. Oversees all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements.
3. Reconciles general ledger accounts monthly.
4. Execute the month-end close process.
5. Analyzes financial data and presents financial reports in an accurate and timely manner.
6. Assists with maintenance of internal controls and safeguarding assets.
7. Coordinates all audit activity.
8. Maintains fixed asst subledger.
9. Responsibility for filing property tax returns.
10. Partner with CFO to ensure timing preparation and filing of all income tax returns.
11. Perform ad hoc financial analysis and lead projects as directed by CFO or others.
12. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications (education, prior work experience, special skills, etc.):
1. BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, or Economics required.
2. MA in Accounting or Tax, a plus.
3. CPA or CPA candidate strongly preferred
4. Public Accounting experience preferred
5. 4 years of experience required.
6. 2 year of supervisory experience
7. Supply chain and more specifically LTL transportation industry knowledge a plus.
8. Ability to travel, as needed, to other offices/service centers.

Pay: From $150,000.00 per year
