What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Supervisor position at Onin?
The Quality Supervisor is responsible for the inspection, process monitoring, and quality assurance program at the TX manufacturing site. The quality coordinators, technicians, and inspectors will report to the supervisor. All audits including regulatory, client, internal, and certification will be his/her responsibility to plan, oversee and provide closure. The Quality Supervisor is responsible for responding to and implementing corrective action for site-related quality issues whether internal or customer-related.
Work Experience
Primary Responsibilities:
- Supervise and guide inspectors, technicians, and other staff.
- Devise procedures to inspect and report quality issues.
- Monitor all operations that affect quality.
- Assure the reliability and consistency of production by checking processes and final output.
- Appraise customer requirements and make sure they are satisfied.
- Facilitate proactive solutions by collecting and analyzing quality data.
- Responsible for planning, conducting, and following up on site customer quality audits.
- Responsible for developing, implementing, and improving the site's internal audit plan.
- Plan and implement projects to improve quality control and monitor internal quality.
- Analyze failure, and corrective and preventive action to respond to customer complaints.
- Review current standards and policies.
- Create and facilitate problem-solving teams, including the use of problem-solving tools such as FMEA.
- Participate in Process Excellence (PEx) activities.
- Actively participate, representing QA, on New Product Development teams
- Responsible for continual improvement activities to enhance the quality system, such as 5S, Job Safety Analysis, risk assessments, process mapping, and application of lean methodologies.
- Perform duties in accordance with established quality standards including ISO 9001:2015
- Actively support Health, Safety, and Environment rules and regulations
- Ensure all legal standards are met.
Qualifications (education, years of experience, etc.):
- BSc/BA in business administration or relevant field preferred
- Min 3 years of experience in a manufacturing quality environment
- Thorough knowledge of methodologies of quality assurance and standards
- Excellent numerical skills and understanding of data analysis/statistical methods.
- Great attention to detail and a result-driven approach
- Excellent organizational and leadership abilities
- Working knowledge of ISO 9001:2015
- ASQ certifications are preferred.
- Six Sigma green/black belt certified, and Lean Manufacturing experience preferred.
- Experience in MRB, design reviews, supplier audits, and corrective action programs
- Thorough understanding of QA standards, implementation, and auditing
- Demonstrated use of metrology equipment
- Thorough understanding of statistical techniques and analyses
- Strong knowledge and use of MS Office applications, integrated MRP database applications, and experience with Minitab (or comparable statistical software) are also desired
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
