Reimbursement Specialist: OnPoint is seeking an energetic, organized, committed professional to fill a full-time Reimbursement Specialist position. As a reimbursement specialist you will be responsible for preparing and completing financial worksheets (both in person and through the mail) for people receiving services at OnPoint and verifying the coverage plans. Work in cooperation with the Reimbursement Team to provide clerical support to the reimbursement functions of the Agency.
PAY RANGE/BENEFIT PACKAGE:
Salary: starting at $44,788 annually - placement above minimum salary is based on experience.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School diploma or GED
- Detail oriented
- Basic math skills
- Two years of experience preferred in financial intake/reimbursement/client registration.
- Lived experiences with mental illness/developmental disabilities/co-occurring disorders/substance use disorders valued.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Financial advocate duties:
- Prepare and complete ability to pay (ATP) for individuals prior to initiation of services and annually thereafter or upon significant changes in income, insurance, or change in guardianship.
- Follow up with clients to get necessary proof of income and other missing items.
- Process financial worksheets when returned.
- Respond to client/staff questions about ATP and Reimbursement issues via email, telephone and in person.
- Verify client insurance:
- Check Medicaid eligibility monthly on all Medicaid and Healthy Michigan Plan (HMP) coverage including iSPA, Habilitation Support Waiver (HSW), Children’s Waiver (CWP), and Serious Emotional Disturbance (SED) Waiver individuals.
- For clients who become ineligible for Medicaid, follow-up with DHHS to determine the cause for loss of eligibility and notify case manager.
- Monitor Out of County Medicaid list and report to DHHS and CMH staff.
- Filing of various reimbursement and other administrative documents. Miscellaneous copying, typing, and mailing.
- Act as a member of the Reimbursement Team in identifying problem areas and needs and recommending process improvements.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
EQUIPMENT/TECHNOLOGY KNOWLEDGE:
- Basic computer skills including various software programs and applications, including Microsoft Office and Electronic Medical Records (EMR's)
- Office equipment including but not limited to fax machine, scanner, copy machine, calculator, printers, etc.
