Job Announcement: Bilingual Medical Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Bilingual Medical Assistant proficient in

Spanish and English to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will assist

healthcare providers in delivering high-quality patient care in a fast-paced clinical

setting.

Position: Medication Assistance Coordinator

Location: Jacksonville, NC

Type: Full-time

Pay: 17.50/hr.

Reports To: Clinic Director

Key Responsibilities:

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare exam rooms prior to the patient’s arrival.
  • Obtain and maintain patient's medical records following appropriate procedures.
  • Check patient's vital signs, including temperature, respiration, pulse, weight, and blood pressure.
  • Document patient's current medical history, drug history, chief complaints, allergies, and vital signs accurately.
  • Assist healthcare providers during exams as needed.
  • Perform diagnostic procedures when ordered, including EKGs, urine dip sticks, and phlebotomy.
  • Transport patients to other clinical areas as necessary.
  • Ensure all charts are properly signed and documented before returning to Health Records.
  • Administer medications to patients as directed.
  • Obtain and communicate lab and x-ray results.
  • Maintain exam room stock levels and perform routine maintenance.
  • Participate in inventory procedures as directed.
  • Perform various administrative functions such as answering phones, scheduling appointments, and filing documents.
  • Remove broken or unsafe equipment from the clinic and notify appropriate personnel.
  • Assist with patient flow and provide direct patient care as directed.
  • Operate medical equipment, including blood pressure monitors, nebulizers, EKG machines, and electronic thermometers.
  • Enter demographic and diagnostic data into computer systems accurately.
  • Communicate effectively with peers, staff, physicians, and leadership.
  • Support patient care delivery by preparing laboratory specimens, performing basic laboratory tests, disposing of contaminated supplies, sterilizing medical instruments, administering medications, administering injections, authorizing drug refills, telephoning prescriptions to pharmacies, preparing patients for procedures, taking electrocardiograms, removing sutures, changing dressings, and providing medication and diet information to patients.
  • Ensure compliance with policies and procedures, including infection control, privacy, and confidentiality.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of a Medical Assistant
  • program required.
  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English required.
  • Certification as a Medical Assistant required.
  • Prior experience in a medical office or clinic setting preferred.
  • Proficiency in operating medical equipment and computer systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Commitment to providing compassionate patient care.
