Title: Principal Engineer
Location: West Bend, WI (20% - 25% Travel)
Salary: $115,000.00 - $130,000.00
Job Summary:
The Principal Engineer will be responsible for the design, development, and analysis of new product development projects based on the company roadmaps and/or customer requirements. They will also lead a team of engineers and/or designers on larger projects. This is a supervisor and contributor blended role that will include design responsibility in addition to some team leadership. The role is positioned to have an opportunity to grow and evolve alongside the growth and evolution of the business.
Key Responsibilities & Duties:
Contributes directly to project design/development efforts and provides technical leadership.
Collaborates with the Sr. Director of Product Development on project assignments, priorities, and work breakdowns.
Communicates task assignments to team resources.
Works with team members to understand the progress of all project tasks and provide status updates on a regular cadence.
Translates customer needs and market requirements into functional product requirements and design specifications.
Leads design reviews and validation planning.
Holds self and team members accountable to meeting commitments.
Ensures the team follows all processes and uses best practices in their design work.
Provides performance feedback and development opportunities for their team members
Performs other duties as assigned.

Education & Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering or other closely related field.
10-Years NPD design experience in hydraulics for construction/off road equipment.
3-Years experience managing direct reports.
Strong understanding of metallurgy and fluid dynamics.
Strong understanding of NPD and product validation process.
Proven skills with 3D CAD and FEA, Creo/Windchill strongly preferred.
Familiarity with MS Office products.
