POSITION: Offshore HSE Advisor (Contract)
LOCATION: Gulf of Mexico
Job Summary:
Onward is searching for an HSE Advisor with Offshore Experience in Oil and Gas. The Ideal candidate will have well rounded experience in production, drilling, completions, and/or construction operations on facilities in the Gulf of Mexico.
This is primarily a "boots-on-ground" position. There will be some administrative task, however, the majority of the time you will be expected to be making rounds on the facility to ensure safe work practices are being followed, connecting with and building relationships with the crew, and working to develop/grow/improve the safety culture as a whole.
Schedule:
The work schedule will typically be 14/14 or 21/21 but can vary based on the project. Crew change locations are typically from Houma, La via helicopter.
Pay Range:
Heavily depends on experience, availability, and the client's work scope. This is a Temp/Contract (1099) position with the opportunity to become full time at a later date.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The HSE Advisor is responsible for providing advice and guidance on all matters pertaining to Health, Safety, and the Environment with respect to Government Compliance, Company Policy, and Client requirements, in an effort to prevent and/or mitigate risk related to the ongoing operations.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Perform rounds to observe work being performed throughout the day to ensure compliance with written practices, regulatory requirements, and Permit to Work systems.
- Be visible and available to the personnel conducting work activities through routine jobsite inspections, performing after action reviews where appropriate.
- Continual promotion of safety culture.
- Ensure timely and accurate incident reporting to management.
- Support with incident investigations.
- Actively participates and leads pre-tour meetings, safety meetings and drills.
- Confirms the conformance with BSEE regulations and company policies.
- Audits process and consistency of government agency visits and their findings.
- Participate in any other additional duties requested or assigned by the Facility Lead/OIM/Company Man/PIC/etc.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Authorization to work lawfully in the US without sponsorship from Onward is required.
- 3 years of experience in an offshore oil and gas environment.
- Ability to work away from home for long periods at a time. (up to 28 days)
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time and walk up and down multiple flights of stairs regularly.
- General Familiarization with industry regulations including SEMS, BSEE Pincs, Coast Guard Regulations, and applicable CFRs.
- Effective/competent MS Office Suite User.
- High level of communication skills in both written and spoken format.
