What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lead UI Designer position at Onward?
Onward Search is hiring a Lead User Interface Designer (UI) for our top entertainment client. We are looking for a designer with a Portfolio of original and breakthrough work, which is technically sound and visually stunning. You can inspire, communicate clearly, mentor and collaborate with the team to make meaningful and elegant customer products.
This is a fully remote, long term contract, which must work PST hours.
Responsibilities:
- Define visual design strategy for entertainment products and work/lead other designers and cross-functional partners to drive consensus across products.
- Design elegant user interfaces and interactions while maintaining a systematic design system and asset library.
- Facilitate the design process, present and iterate design solutions in partnership with UX, Motion and Copy.
- Craft, pitch, and validate design strategies based on consumer personas.
Requirements:
- 8 years of UI design. In-house preferable, agency-side to consider.
- Experience managing direct reports, or mentoring jr-sr designers
- Portfolio of original and breakthrough work with demonstrated documentation of those experiences.
- Strong focus on interaction design and an understanding that UX and UI are two parts of a whole.
- Strong understanding of responsive/adaptive web design, prototyping, native apps and emerging platforms. Design Systems Experience.
- Proficient with Adobe Creative, Figma
- Bachelors in Fine Arts, Communication Design, Interactive Design, HCI or related field. Master’s a plus.
