Onyx Zealot is currently seeking a goal-driven person with a history of achieving sales goals, distribution objectives, developing relationships, generating new and expanding existing business and managing the profitability of the organization.
The ideal person will lead all on and off premise sales execution across North Carolina through direct selling, distributor management, kicking off new brands and new item presentations. This person must have a genuine interest in wine and comfortable holding wine tastings and dinners with impactful customers. A strong sense of ethics is required.
Responsibilities:
Spend several days during the week making account visits and/or calls including cold-calls
Prepare and submit sales reports to CEO
Participate in trade and consumer tasting events
Present wine portfolio to customers. Provide Merchandising for shelf distribution, display opportunities, brand education and wine list placement
Responsible for meeting or exceeding company sales goals and timely execution of all company initiatives, programs, and procedures
Audit distributor bill-backs and take corrective action if needed
Ensure State and Federal compliance in region. Including a current ABC Salesman Permit
Identify new and existing customer needs, suggest appropriate products and services, prepare price quotes, delivery dates and service standards to achieve organizational revenue goals
Establish customer relationships on and off premises through regular communication
Ability to secure by-the-glass pours, conduct wait staff trainings and wine/beer dinners
Qualifications:
High School Diploma. Associate's degree or higher preferred
Be at least 21 years old
Clear criminal background and driving record
Must be Eligible for NC ABC Salesman Permit
Must be willing to travel within the North Carolina region
Effective and professional communication skills; written and verbal
Strong customer service skills
Ability to solve problems
Proficient computer skills to include Microsoft Office
Flexible weekly schedule that may include the need to work evening and weekend hours
Ability to lift and carry at least 50 pounds; occasionally lift up to 100 pounds
Ability to drive and stand for extended periods of time
Mobility within the territory (vehicle)
Must have at least 2 years distributor wine sales experience within this territory
Efficient time management skills
Ability and desire to travel frequently for meetings, market visits and presentations
Understanding of respective state compliance and liquor laws
Persuasive public speaking and presentation skills as well as the ability to close deals
