Salary: $40,000-$50,000 (depending on experience)  

Location: Bradenton, Hybrid 4 days in office, 1 day off-site

Opportunity 
The Bookkeeper performs accounting related activities under the direction of the Finance VP. The Bookkeeper must be able to manage multiple accounting related activities from bookkeeping to payables to receivables to reporting. This person will have the opportunity to be promoted into higher level organizational roles if he or she performs well.  

Essential Duties  

  • Perform general accounting and other related duties for the organization.  
  • Maintains the general ledger.  
  • Codes invoices, sets up new accounts, reconciles accounts, and closes the monthly books.  
  • Reconcile bank accounts at least monthly and verify deposits.  
  • Reconcile cash disbursement accounts, payroll, credit card statements, customer accounts, employee and contractor reimbursements.   
  • Manages accounts receivable collections.  
  • Verify and/or completes payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensure payments are charged to the appropriate accounts.  
  • File tax forms with federal, state, and local government agencies.  
  • Maintain knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures.  

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred 

  • Knowledge of general accounting, bookkeeping, and reporting.  
  • Understanding of and the ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.  
  • Strong knowledge in QuickBooks Advanced, Excel, and ability to learn other programs quickly.  
  • Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment.   
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.   
  • Strong ability to follow through, manage, and prioritize multiple projects and tasks.  
  • Creative problem solver.   
  • Self-motivated, self-managed, and driven by performance. 
  • Ability to effectively multitask while keeping a positive attitude.  
  • Organized and focused, yet with a “whatever needs done” for the organization mentality. Willingness to roll up your sleeves and get work done.   
  • Unquestionable ethics, integrity, and common sense.  
  • Able to create and maintain collegial relationships with all team members.  

 

Qualifications and Experience Preferred 

  • 3 years of related work experience.
