The Director of Nutrition Services is responsible for the school food service operations, people leadership, and compliance.

Responsibilities: **Travel is required for the duration of a 2 week training period for all internal and external employees.**80% Hands-On Operations
- Supervise and assist with the production and service of school meals and catering events.
- Develop and maintain excellent relationships with school district administration and staff.
- Staff, train, and develop talent.
- Hire, coach, employee discipline and retention.
- Purchase food/supplies, manage inventory, and maintain a monthly budget.
- Responsible for P&L (Profit and Loss).
- Maintain a safe work environment.
- Work in all areas of the kitchen and cafeteria.
- Other duties assigned.
20% Business Administration
- Develop marketing plans to encourage to student participation in the foodservice program.
- Public speaking and attendance of school board meetings.
- Utilize software including recruiting, inventory, ordering.
- Keep business records and analyze trends.
- Keep Compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

Desired qualifications, skills and experience education:
- A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent educational experience with academic majors in the areas including food, nutrition, dietetics, business
OR
- High school diploma (or GED) and at least 3 years of relevant food service experience.
Physical/visual activities or demands:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, kneel, crawl, push, pull, grasp, feel, taste, smell, talk, hear, and reach with hands and arms.
- Exert over 60 pounds of force occasionally.
- Be able to frequently lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects up to 25 pounds.
**Working Conditions: *
- Inside and outside working conditions (Working in a hot kitchen)
- Frequently works around moving mechanical parts and is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions in extreme heat.
- Occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals and extreme cold.
- Noise level is usually loud.
