The Opportunity:
The VP of Finance and Accounting will have ownership of all aspects of financial reporting including internal financial statements and external financial statements.
What You’ll Do:
- Ensure that all external reporting is in compliance with US GAAP and the requirements of the SEC
- Ownership of the quarterly and annual SEC filing process
- Collaborate with Director of FP&A to deliver monthly internal reporting to meet business stakeholder needs including financial statements, period over period change analysis, cash management, and business KPIs
- Leadership role in annual budget and quarterly reforecasting process including monthly budget to actual reporting and analysis
- Leadership role in establishing and maintaining SOX compliant internal controls
- Ensure internal controls are appropriate to safeguard the company’s assets and maintain financial integrity
- Collaboration with IT compliance for system, access and change management reviews as well as system integration controls
- Leadership role in accounting team development and team building
- Manage and oversee the external audit process to ensure smooth and efficient execution of quarterly reviews and the annual audit
- Ownership for month end close related to areas of responsibility
- Complex accounting areas including lease accounting, revenue recognition, debt and covenant compliance, equity and share based compensation, consolidating elimination entries
- Technical guidance implementation and technical memorandums as needed
- Review of monthly journal entries and account reconciliations for assigned general ledger activity
- Recommend and assist in implementing continuous improvement techniques to improve productivity and increase efficiencies
- Lead efforts to make configuration or feature updates within NetSuite to improve accounting efficiencies
- Implement processes to monitor, evaluate, and improve quality and integrity of the accounting data set
- Collaborate with IT around integrations between NetSuite and LendPro (our platform) and related validations or reconciliations
- Cross functional collaboration to facilitate reporting automation through Power BI or other available applications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. MBA or CPA preferred.
- 10 years of progressive experience in finance leadership roles, preferably in the financial technology industry or related sectors.
- Proven track record of driving financial strategy, planning, and performance in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to translate financial data into actionable insights and recommendations.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and develop a diverse team of finance professionals, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous learning.
- Deep understanding of financial principles, accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
- Experience working with financial technology platforms, systems, and tools is a plus
