Summary
Open Road Integrated Media is looking for a highly motivated Revenue & Royalty Senior Accountant to join our Finance team. The ideal candidate must be a team player who is hands on, highly detail oriented and process driven, but also a critical and creative thinker with willingness to take on challenges, dive into the details while being able to grasp the big picture.
Essential Functions
Revenue
Compile and review monthly sales reports from various retailers/customers.
Reach out to retailer contacts to resolve discrepancies in sales reports.
Assist with month end close and year end close processes related to revenue (invoicing, journal entry, balance sheet and income statement reconciliations).
Assist with audit requests and ad hoc reports.
Generate revenue reports and prepare payment accruals for author royalties.
Review account receivables, perform payment applications and adjustments as needed.
Royalties
Prepare monthly and quarterly author/publisher royalty and marketing statements.
Respond to incoming royalty related queries.
Perform necessary statement adjustments, generate statements and process payments to royalty recipients.
Set up accounts in the royalty system based on newly signed agreements or amendments received from the production team.
Prepare manual statements and statement summaries in excel.
Ensure title, contract and contact detail is accurate across all systems.
Make continued improvements in the royalty system to better serve the needs of the company while staying up to date with industry standards.
Requirements
3-5 years of experience in accounting or revenue
BS in Accounting or Finance related field preferred
Excellent written and communication skills
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook
Highly detail oriented and analytical
Ability to work independently and adjust to a fast-growing and changing environment
Royalties experience is a plus
Experience with financial and royalty systems a plus
