Job Posting for Payroll & Human Resources Coordinator at Open Sky Education
Job Purpose
Under the direction of the Payroll Manager, the temporary Payroll/HR Coordinator provides administrative support to the Payroll and Human Resources teams by handling information requests and performing administrative functions such as HRIS employee profile maintenance, timecard audits, and basic reporting.
Essential Responsibilities and Competencies
Act as first point of contact to answer employee questions related to time entry, HRIS access, and other general department inquiries
Monitor Payroll Department email inbox and triage or escalate all inquiries
Maintain employee documents in the HRIS
Regularly review time management system for timeliness and accuracy of punches and communicate discrepancies with the Payroll Manager, team members, and supervisors
Open and route all mail that comes into the Payroll and HR departments
Produce and distribute various post-payroll reports after the close of each payroll cycle
Prepare garnishments for entry and send required communications to impacted employees
Respond to and complete previous and current team member employment verifications
Review and respond to unemployment inquiries and audits
Process employee enrollments and separations for the St. Louis Retirement System
Provide ad hoc reporting by request from the Payroll and HR teams
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Associates degree or higher preferred
2 years of admin level payroll and human resources experience
Knowledge of federal and state employment laws
GSuite and Microsoft Office familiarity including advanced level Excel (vlookups, pivot tables)
Proficiency with UKG or Kronos HRIS and timekeeping preferred
