Lab Assistant

Strong laboratory skills, able to carry out lab scale experimentation in a safe, accurate and well-organized manner.
Maintain proficiency and ability to work independently using the necessary Syngenta computer systems (StarLims, MatRef, ELN) as well using more widely available software such as SmartSheet, Microsoft Office applications, etc.
Be the PIC (person-in-charge) for certain laboratory instruments. Proficiency in troubleshooting and performing maintenance of laboratory equipment. Independently track, schedule and document any necessary repairs and/or preventative maintenance.
Manage infrastructure in assigned lab spaces.
Good oral and written communications skills.
Must have good organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
Work to understand customer needs and timely delivery of quality service.
Proactively contribute ideas and new solutions to improve efficiency of current procedures or processes.
Work effectively within a diverse team environment and be flexible to changing priorities and changes in personal responsibilities.
Ability to manage own sample analysis workload and support tasks independently and effectively but within a team environment.
Skills:Minimum Qualifications:
Experience with different analytical techniques, especially, liquid/gas chromatography
Preferred Skills:Experience with solid state characterization techniques - X-ray diffraction (XRD), DSC, TGA, microscopy
Literature searching and the use of library and information system.
Education:Minimum of bachelor’s degree in chemistry or equivalent field

Pay: $21.00 - $23.00 per hour

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Day shift
• Monday to Friday

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Greensboro, NC: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
