Compensation range: $80,000-$90,000/year

Position Summary
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Senior Designer II works both independently and collaboratively with internal and external partners to develop creative interior space solutions to meet customer needs. This role will possess a specific area of specialty or expertise while serving as leader, mentor, and pace setter for teams and colleagues. The role will also serve as the key or primary customer liaison and share customer management and project management responsibilities with their sales partners. The Senior Designer II engages with customers to gather project information (surveys, interviews, data collection, observations), client meetings, concept development, space planning, develop drawings, sketches, furniture and material selections, product specification, and quality assurance. The Senior Designer II owns the project conception and guides the client all along the way.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Serve as client liaison.
- Distill and analyze project information.
- Specialization in one or more areas of expertise (software, process, vertical market, building code, customer, and product knowledge, etc.).
- Manage multiple key projects and engagements.
- Conduct product research and contact vendors for pricing and information.
- Engage with customer to gather project information (surveys, interviews, data collection, observations) and to uncover customer challenges.
- Specify furniture and finishes required per final layouts.
- Influence, inspire, mentor, and guide solutions and deliverables from supporting team members.
- Produce furniture block plans, space plans, finish palettes, furniture specification, and installation drawings; create, revise, plot design drawings, and present design concepts to customers.
- Develop validation packages and spreadsheets.
- Estimate budgetary hours and manage and monitor project hours.
- Assist in the on-boarding process with new team members
- Participate in or lead internal and external projects and process improvement initiatives.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
- Effectively manages complex projects with many players and objectives.
- Clearly and comfortably delegates both routine and important tasks to design support partners.
- Advanced understanding of building codes, regulations, ADA.
- Ability to analyze complex information from multiple sources.
- Ability to draw/sketch by hand.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in interior or architectural Design, bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university is required, with 10 years related design experience.
- One or more professional certifications are required (NCIDQ, CID, LEED AP, WELL AP, EDAC, 6 Sigma, PMI,CIDA, and/or NAB etc.).
- Advanced proficiency in a variety of software: Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Microsoft Office. CET Designer, and Adobe Suites desired.
- Advanced knowledge of commercial furniture products and systems furnishings.
- Council for Interior Design Accreditation (CIDA) or National Architecture Board (NAB) accreditation preferred.
- Attend industry events and peer networking opportunities.
- Membership in industry professional organizations required.
