Role
OpenTable is seeking a New York City-based part-time writer/editor/content manager with 5 years experience in editorial writing and a strong connection to the restaurant industry. This person will focus on writing impactful content for the blog to guide diners to the best of what’s on OpenTable in New York City. The ideal candidate has experience writing for prestigious food publications and has a passion for the food and restaurant world that is equal to their passion for storytelling and digital content.
Responsibilities

Pitching and writing 1-2 stories per week for the consumer blog, including guides, restaurant spotlights, industry roundups, and columns

Gathering photos for stories

Building stories in Wordpress

Meeting with the OpenTable content team to set content calendar

Covering the local restaurant scene on social media in partnership with OpenTable social manager and ideating/creating content for posting
Requirements

At least 5 years experience writing and editing at consumer brands and publications

Deep knowledge of the restaurant industry

An established network of publicist and restaurant relationships

Airtight writing skills that need limited training

Experience crafting content that will help drive SEO value
