Job Description
Position Summary:
The pay range for this position is $28.75/hour to $31.75/hour. The starting pay rate will be $29.75/hour
The Stress and Your Mood (SAYM) Clinician is responsible for the implementation of the SAYM program in schools and community partner sites (churches, youth centers, libraries, etc.).
Stress and Your Mood is an evidence based, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) program that is funded by Riverside University Health System-Behavioral Health (formally known as Riverside County Department of Mental Health) Prevention and Early Intervention Department (RUHS-BH PEI). SAYM is intended for students who are showing early signs of mental health disorders and are at risk for developing more severe mental health disorders due to lack of knowledge of healthy coping skills. SAYM consists of 3 modules designed to help students set appropriate goals, increase and incorporate pleasant activities into daily life, decrease negative thoughts and increase positive thoughts, and strengthen relationships by learning and applying healthy communication skills. SAYM consists of up to 20 group, individual, and/or family sessions to youth ages 16-25 years old who qualify.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Participate in all contract-required trainings throughout the year, including First Aid/CPR, Suicide Awareness and Prevention, SAYM training and fidelity meetings, PEI Summit and Cultural Awareness.
2. Work in a collaborative manner with RUHS-BH PEI department to deliver SAYM in accordance with evidenced-based program fidelity.
3. Collaborate and network with school staff to provide on-site services.
4. Conduct full clinical assessments, group and individual sessions, and collateral sessions as needed.
5. Demonstrate self-awareness, willingness to receive feedback and appropriate professional/personal boundaries.
6. Work closely with Mental Health Programs Director to ensure proper implementation of SAYM program.
7. Actively participates in group and individual supervision and trainings, as needed.
8. Demonstrate awareness of transference and countertransference issues and address them as they arise
9. Become familiar with program goals and deadlines and ensure that they are met.
10. Complete required documentation thoroughly, neatly and in a timely manner.
11. Communicate and correspond with outside agencies, authorities and institutions in a professional and timely manner.
12. Complete a total of 35 participants during the fiscal year (July 1st-June 30th).
13. Other duties as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications:
• Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapist or Social Work from an accredited university or college
• Eligibility for supervised hours toward licensure (registered intern: AMFT, APCC, or ACSW)
• Current Driver’s license, clean driving record and reliable transportation.
• Superior organizational abilities and attention to detail
• Fluent Spanish speaking preferred
• A general understanding of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy principles and group processes
• Able to pass state criminal background check
• Registered with BBS (Board of Behavioral Sciences)
• Availability in mornings and afternoons, as most groups will be conducted during school hours.
• Demonstrate willingness to learn required documentation and billing paperwork and exhibit a professional level of comfort in working independently.
Work environment:
· Work is temporarily remote due to Covid-19 restrictions
· Low to moderate noise level

Physical Demands:
· Considerable time is spent at a desk using a computer, printer, keyboard etc.
· Occasional light work that includes moving objects up to 20 lbs., when in office.
Travel to school sites in the desert area. Mileage reimbursement will be provided.
