The Assistant Corporate Controller is a key role within finance that will work closely with the Corporate Controller and will identify and lead implementation of key strategic initiatives within the worldwide accounting organization. This individual will own the preparation and reporting of the monthly/quarterly financial statements, assist in efforts to assess M&A targets and integrate accounting operations of targets, as well as be a critical player in the preparation of all financial SEC filings. The role will be both demanding and rewarding with exposure to leadership and high-profile projects with a clear career path in our growing organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Responsible for detailed and critical review of balance sheet and cash flow which includes preparation and review of key areas of judgment.
• Act as the primary liaison with the external auditors for quarterly reviews, interim and annual financial audits. 
• Assist with special projects under the direction of the Corporate Controller and CAO, as applicable.
• Play a strategic role in mergers & acquisitions due diligence, integration and accounting as related to ASC 805; assist with financial statement preparation and disclosure as well as SOX readiness and implementations, as applicable
• Monitor and assess current trends and emerging accounting developments to ensure the company’s compliance and preparedness. Develop and draft accounting research and positions on non-standard transactions and new accounting pronouncements
• Work closely with the global accounting and other cross functional teams to identify and implement new accounting guidance
• Partner with Corporate Controller in organizational and talent development
• Play in a key role in our risk management process by being the prime point of contact for insurance renewals and claims resolutions.
• Partner with FP&A on quarterly reporting, budgeting and take primary responsibility on press releases.
• Assist with the preparation of the annual shareholder proxy
• Assist with preparation of 10-Q, 10-K and other external filings (including 8K, 8K/A, primarily resulting from M&A activity).

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Proficiency in applying GAAP and SEC accounting and disclosure rules.
• Sound business judgment that results in strong internal controls.
• Experience working with and accounting for international subsidiaries. 
• Working knowledge of major financial systems (SAP preferred) and adept at report development and production.  Prior ERP implementation/integration experience ideal.
• Experience using Equity Edge software a plus.
• Proactive and a self-starter

Educational/Certification Requirement

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with Accounting concentration; CPA required.
• 7 years with Big 4 CPA firm preferred
• Minimum 3-5 years of industry experience, equipment manufacturing preferred

Management Experience:

• 5 years people management
