UCT is seeking an experienced and talented Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join our team in Hayward, CA!
Job Summary:
The Senior Manufacturing Engineer will assist in supporting the production build of various systems on the manufacturing floor. Responsible for planning and conducting independent work requiring judgment in the evaluation, selection, application, and adaptation of Manufacturing techniques, procedures, and criteria. Devise new approaches to problems, and prepare or modify drawings, specifications, calculations, charts, and graphs, and monitor work for compliance to applicable build and quality standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Requires a broad knowledge of Manufacturing Practices, Assembly Prints, Bill of Materials to be able to create Manufacturing ready documentation such as S.O.E.’s (Sequence of Events) and Assembly Process Workflow.
- Provides technical direction and on-the-job training to production staff.
- Plans, schedules, conducts, and coordinates the Manufacturing Engineer portion of the system build.
- Prepares and/or modifies work instructions, BOM structures, and training curriculum.
- Ensures proper interdisciplinary coordination and effective communication on projects.
- Requires contact with Customers, vendor representatives. Attends and participates in Customer meetings.
- Confers with engineers, technicians, customers, and others to discuss best practices in an effort to streamline build processes and procedures.
- Inspects completed systems; partners with Manufacturing and Quality organizations to ensure conformance to design and equipment specifications and compliance with operational and safety standards.
- Supports project production efforts to assure projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Investigates customer or internal issues determines the nature and extent of the problem, and recommends corrective actions.
- Assists in cost estimations and development of capital project programs for new equipment and major repairs.
- Evaluates and process Engineering Change Orders.
- Performs other duties as required.
- Attendance is an essential duty of this position.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Lean Manufacturing Principles, Six Sigma Greenbelt preferred.
- Familiarity with semiconductor capital equipment.
- Knowledge of electronic Work Instruction software is a plus (i.e. Sequence).
- ERP System Software
- Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Suite, emphasis in Excel.
- Prior experience leading small teams to achieve project success.
- Good interpersonal skills; ability to work alone or in a team environment.
Educational/Certification Requirement:
Bachelor of Science/ Bachelor of Arts degree in Engineering, Physical Sciences, Manufacturing or related field required
Experience Requirement:
Work Experience:
- 5 - 8 years of experience in related manufacturing/ production position, preferably in semiconductor capital equipment or related industry
- Working knowledge of quick-turn, engineer-to-order environment
