JOB SUMMARY: The basic function of the Intern is to assist with projects of the department to which assigned. The following departments have opportunities:
ASC/Pain Center (Clerical), Athletic Training, Health Information Management (HIM), Patient Access, PreCertification,
SCHEDULE/HOURS: VARIED
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION:
- High school diploma or its equivalent
- Currently enrolled or expected to begin college or other institute of higher learning within 6 months
- Proficient in the use of a computer.
- Ability to work efficiently and independently.
- Must possess excellent communication skills.
- Experience or education in the work being completed in the assigned department preferred.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assists the assigned department with projects as needed during the duration of the internship.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Must be proficient in the English language, both verbally and written, in order to communicate effectively with patients, co-workers, physicians, vendors, and the general public.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Prolonged periods of sitting. Light physical effort; some standing, walking, bending, reaching, stooping; manual dexterity to operate keyboard and other equipment; detail oriented; able to maintain a pleasant and courteous demeanor under all circumstances.
Depending on department assigned could require ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and 25 pounds frequently. Work within the range of floor to overhead, pushing, pulling and stair climbing.
