Mental Health Coordinator

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in human services or education. Experience working with adults or youth with behavioral and emotional challenges strongly preferred.
OR
Master’s degree and coursework in areas related to mental health services, including clinical psychology, psychology, school or educational psychology, rehabilitation psychology, counseling and guidance, counseling psychology or social work.
Responsibilities:
Implement and participate in goal-oriented activities with individuals.
Activities include: Wellness Management, Physical Health Monitoring, Individual Skill Development, building Social/Natural Supports, Psychoeducation, Socialization, Community Activities, Assistance/Guidance with transportation and Employment Related Skill Training.
Ability to teach various skills (social, life, employment, daily living) one-on-one or in a group setting.
Facilitate individuals engaging in appropriate physical/emotional activities.
Ability to transport and accompany individuals to appointments, community activities and other locations as requested in the service plan.
Be knowledgeable in and able to implement and document properly all individuals’ services provided daily in required clinical documentation format which may include various computer systems.
Exercise good judgment and decision making with regard for safety. Communicate with Supervisor as necessary with situations that arise and assure proper procedures are followed.
Work closely and communicate with other members of the individual’s treatment team. This may include implementing therapeutic approaches discussed in therapy sessions, working closely with teachers and communicating what occurs in a school setting, and implementing skills and techniques as per treatment team recommendations.
Provide in-home supports to specific families and provide assistance and coaching to parents, families and/or guardians.
Maintain a professional relationship with individual’s families, guardian and individuals in their environment.
Utilize training to de-escalate tense situations.
Ability to attend all required meetings/trainings as requested.
Service needs for individuals may vary frequently due to service needs/request of the individual’s family and/or funders. This means there is a potential of less than 24-hour notice of schedule changes.

Typical schedule is Monday-Friday

Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to: stand, walk, run, reach with hands and arms regularly
Talk and hear
Push, pull, squat, bend, stoop, twist and kneel occasionally
Lifting up to 50 lbs of inanimate objects occasionally
Lift up to to 35 lbs when manually assisting clients (specific situations may require additional lifting capabilities)
Reliable vehicle (unless determined exempt with HR)
Work Environment:
Employees must be able to manage high stress environments. Good judgment and the ability to manage crisis situations are required. This position involves working directly with individuals who may present physical or verbal aggressions toward self, staff or others.
This position performs tasks that may involve exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues.
Work locations during regular service hours include but are not limited to community settings, school settings and individuals’ home environment.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly in a client’s home, community, office, or setting with varying degrees of background noise. Lighting and ventilation are typical of a residential and office setting.
This position requires use of a company email address which requires an application to be downloaded on your personal cell phone for multi-factor authentication (MFA) to ensure cyber security.
