They are committed to delivering exceptional service and building trust through seamless experiences for their members. WHAT YOU'LL DO : Set up new claims and process mail.
Scan and verify documents, maintain electronic filing.Prepare letters and assist claimants, members, providers, and vendors with claim inquiries.
Prepare and process medical bills for audit, enter bills for payment, and issue payments with necessary documentation.Request medical records and manage the discovery process.
Serve as primary receptionist, answer phones.Understand and fulfill reporting requirements for workers’ compensation claims to the Alaska Workers’ Compensation Board through the Electronic Data Interface System (EDI).
Prepare Compensation Reports and Controversion Notices under direct supervision.Calculate temporary total and partial disability rates.
Prepare monthly claims system check registers, reconciliation reports, and quarterly deductible billing and loss run reports.
Assist in preparing the annual AWCB Second Injury Fund report.Make travel arrangements for injured workers.Research disputed medical billings.
Prepare insurance claims kits and other duties as assigned. REQUIREMENTS : Minimum two years of experience in a claims assistant or similar position in the insurance industry.
Desired, but not required, a two-year or four-year degree and demonstrated work experience.Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
Typing skills of at least 50 words per minute with minimal errors.Obtain certification as a Notary Public in Alaska within 90 days of employment.
Obtain an adjuster trainee license after one year, with the expectation of becoming a fully licensed property and casualty adjuster within two years.
