Our client is seeking a Tipper/ Grinder Operator to join with the production team.
WHAT YOU’ LL DO:
As a Tipper/ Grinder Operator, you will attach a piece of carbide or stellite to a round piece of steel (saw) to customers specifications while maintaining consistently high quality. Utilizes Lean Manufacturing techniques to continuously improve quality and processes through suggestions and observations.

- $18.75 Hourly
- Mon-Fri
- Swing 2pm – 10: 30pm
- PTO, HEALTH INSURANCE, 401K & FLEXIBLE SPENDING ACCOUNT AFTER PROBATIONARY PERIOD
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Uses a machine to grind a piece of steel (called saw) round in diameter
- Uses a machine to notch a piece of steel (called saw) to insert carbide tip
- Uses a torch to heat up tip and saw to install carbide tips
- Operates a machine that automatically forms a tooth and welds stellite on saw
- Job includes taking saw and setting up machine parameters for the kerf of customers order
- Basic programming of the 7 grinders
- Operates up to 6 machines at a time
- Loading and unloading saws from any of the 7 grinding machines
- Changing grinding wheels
- Adding coolant and empty swarf when needed
- General cleaning of machines and area.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES -
- Active participation in Lean training and events as requested
- Must cross-train to other positions as requested
- Other duties as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE -
- Ability to run six machines at the same time through organizing orders to grind
- Able to work with people to trouble shoot problems with saws
- Able to schedule daily work requirements unsupervised to meet customer demands
- Work with technician to trouble shoot minor machine problems
- Must be able to speak and read English
- Must be able to do basic math
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds
