About this position
This position is responsible for assisting with management of the homes and center-based Child Care Food Program. The successful candidate must be able to communicate effectively, work both independently and collaboratively within a small, close-knit team, and thrive in a fast-paced environment. We are looking for someone with an upbeat, positive attitude who is eager to support the organization’s mission and achieve its strategic goals.
What you’ll be doing
Assisting with the competitive bid process to select vendors under the supervision of the Nutrition Center manager and food program director;
Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of Child and Adult Care Food Program regulations;
Maintaining Los Angeles Public Health and California Public Health Nutrition Center permits;
Keeping track of state and federal schedules of work and meeting contract timelines;
Conducting edit checks of all processed meal counts and menus for the homes and center-based Child and Adult Care Food Program;
Maintaining provider and center files, including current copies of licenses;
Conducting periodic assessments of the nutrition program, assisting with internal and funding source administrative reviews;
Working effectively with team members of the homes and center-based programs;
Developing and tracking staff, home provider, and center-based staff trainings annually;
Coordinating with the Nutrition Center manager and operations/nutrition program director to review final product;
Conducting annual trainings as specified by program requirements;
Developing monthly informational newsletters for home providers and center-based staff;
Maintaining all training materials for future administrative reviews;
Assisting with maintenance of Child Nutrition Information and Payment System (CNIPS), pertaining to submission of monthly reimbursement claims and updates;
Carrying out problem resolutions with home provider and center-based sites;
Representing the organization at assigned meetings;
Assisting the operations/nutrition program director and Nutrition Center manager as needed.
Performing other duties as assigned.
What you bring to the table
Ability to work well with people, with a particular sensitivity to the needs of children and families;
Associate’s degree in nutrition or a related field;
Bachelor’s degree in nutrition or a related field (preferred);
Five years of experience in a child and adult care food program, including implementation of menu preparation and recordkeeping;
Two years of experience developing materials;
Computer skills, including word processing and spreadsheets;
Good organizational skills;
Ability to communicate in written and oral English correctly and effectively;
Command of Spanish, Cantonese, Mandarin or Vietnamese (preferred);
California driver’s license, daily use of an automobile, and current automobile liability insurance (preferred).

Job specifications
Reports to the operations/nutrition program director and Nutrition Center manager;
Full-time, 12-month work year;
Requires some evening and weekend work hours;
Employment, responsibilities, compensation and other factors may be affected by changes in governmental regulations, the organization’s contracts, or at organization discretion.

$65,520 per year
