About this position
This position works within the organization’s cross-functional Finance Department that oversees the accounting responsibilities for multiple state- and federally funded programs across the San Gabriel Valley. The parent billing and fee specialist is responsible for the administration of fees for parents of children enrolled in the organization’s Child Care Services, Early Learning Programs, and School-age Programs.
The successful candidate must be able to communicate effectively, work both independently and collaboratively within a small, close-knit team, and thrive in a fast-paced environment. We are looking for someone with an upbeat, positive attitude who is eager to support the organization’s mission and achieve its strategic goals.
What you’ll be doing
- Calculating parent fee amounts;
- Preparing and sending invoices, bills, and bank deposits;
- Processing and tracking incoming payments and accounts in compliance with financial procedures and policies;
- Monitoring and reconciling parent fee receivables for the Child Care Services, Early Learning Programs, and School-age Programs;
- Communicating with parents regarding billing questions;
- Processing attendance reports;
- Uploading data into ACH and Positive Pay systems;
- Processing daily deposits;
- Assisting with Finance Department audits;
- Performing other duties as assigned.
What you bring to the table
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred;
- Three years of experience in an accounting setting;
- Computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications;
- Intermediate skills in Excel;
- Ability to function well in a team environment;
- Command of Spanish, Cantonese, Mandarin, or Vietnamese;
- Ability to communicate in written and oral English correctly and effectively.

Job specifications
- Reports to the senior accountant and controller;
- Full-time, 12-month work year;
- Eight-hour workday;
- Opportunity for hybrid-work schedule may be available and to be determined by management;
- Employment, responsibilities, compensation, and other factors may be affected by changes in governmental regulations, the organization’s contracts, or at the organization’s discretion.
