What are the responsibilities and job description for the Welding technician position at OPW?
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Robotic Welding Technicians are responsible for the set-up, maintenance, and operation of robotic welding equipment.
- Robotic welding technicians are critical to the fabrication of metallic parts or assemblies through welding by the means of a robotic machine.
- Maintaining existing welding robots, and implementing robotic welding for manufacturing and production.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Apply principles of basic welding fundamentals, symbols, and blueprints
- Identify and perform correct robotic welding parameters, welding procedures, operations and programs
- Perform preventative maintenance of robotic equipment and welding equipment
- Ability to work in a team culture without continued supervision.
- Meet and maintain daily production rates & goals.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE :
- Strong analytical thinking, problem solving, and computer skills
- Knowledgeable of automation equipment, processes, and systems
- Interpret blueprints and drawings
- Adapt to technology changes quickly and seamlessly
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
PHYSICAL DEMANDS :
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand. The employee is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
The employee is frequently required to walk, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and talk or hear.
WORK ENVIRONMENT :
