Intermediate consulting position operating independently with some assistance and guidance to provide quality work products to a project team or customer that comply with Oracle methodologies and practices. Performs standard duties and tasks with some variation to implement Oracle products and technology to meet customer specifications.
Standard assignments are accomplished without assistance by exercising independent judgment, within defined policies and processes, to deliver functional and technical solutions on moderately complex customer engagements.
2-5 years of overall experience in relevant functional or technical roles. Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience. Product or technical expertise relevant to practice focus. Ability to communicate effectively and build rapport with team members and clients. Ability to travel as needed.

Opower is looking for a top-notch BI Engineer for a growing Implementation engineering team to help our global utility clients meet their goals of energy efficiency and customer engagement. Opower’s innovative approach leverages cutting-edge behavioral science, customer data analytics, and the latest software to help millions of people worldwide save energy. The Implementation engineering team works directly with Opower’s utility partners to ensure their success.
Opower’s BI Engineers are technically skilled analysts who extract valuable insights from meaningful, large-scale, energy efficiency software systems. They interface with our utility partners, Engagement Managers, System Operators, Professional Service Engineers, Product Engineers, Production Operators, Product Management, and others to work on exciting and complex client inquiries in a friendly, collaborative environment. As Opower continues to expand at a rapid pace, BI Engineers are naturally positioned to grow both within the team and across the company. The position reports to the Director of Implementation Engineering.

Responsibilities

Triage and resolve production reporting requests, working closely with clients and Opower teams, both technical and non-technical.

Gather and analyze information, evaluate impacts, and resolve or escalate issues as needed.

Act as friendly subject matter experts on reporting for all Opower products and services.

Balance client expectations and internal needs.

Identify and define typical reporting requirements to standardize client experience and ensure consistency and quality.

Work closely with the Engineering team to build out OAV roll out plan for our utility partners
About You

Have experience with Business Intelligence reporting and report design.

Have a solid understanding of relational database design and structures.

Are a self starter, a quick learner, and pay attention to details.

You are comfortable writing SQL and have recent experience with relational databases, MySQL preferred

You have experience with Unix and are not afraid of the command line
-
Have strong professional and interpersonal communication skills, both verbally and in writing.

Ideally, have work-related experience with BI tools and data structures to support reporting insights

Function well in a fast-paced, informal environment where constant change is the norm and the bar for quality is set high.

You have a computer-related technical degree or equivalent work experience.

California Pay Range: from $33.46 to $65.10 per hour; from $69,600 to $135,400 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.
Colorado Pay Range: from $31.59 to $58.61 per hour; from $65,700 to $121,900 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.
New York City Pay Range: from $31.59 to $61.88 per hour; from $65,700 to $128,700 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.
Washington Pay Range: from $35.29 to $61.88 per hour; from $73,400 to $128,700 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.
Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience and market conditions, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.
