What are the responsibilities and job description for the Software Developer 5 position at Oracle?
Job Description
At the heart of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) are Oracle Hardware and its Cloud Software stack.
-
Would you like to make a difference working at the forefront of Cloud infrastructure?
-
Are you interested in the foundational security elements of Cloud servers?
-
Do you like solving complex security, scale and performance problems?
If so, we are seeking a Senior Principal Software Engineer who will help architect and develop Root of Trust (RoT) capabilities for OCI servers.
About the Team
OCI’s bare metal offering provides Cloud customers with unprecedented access to the “bare metal” hardware. This offering is a great draw for our customers who want the ability to install their custom firmware versions (storage drives, host NICs) to maximize performance and fine-tune system response. However, low-level access to the hardware can open the Cloud infrastructure to large attack vectors.
To address this issue, RoT devices provide the ability to deploy a chain of trusted firmware and software components into every programmable device within the server, ensuring that hosts can be securely wiped and provisioned.
Our team is responsible for designing, implementing, validating and releasing firmware that runs on RoT devices. We also implement software packages that enable host provisioning and secure access to critical host subsystems.
