Job Description
Plans, schedules and monitors the movement of materials through the production cycle to determine needed materials purchases. Obtains materials using engineering and production schedules to maintain inventory at planned levels (i.e., just in time purchases, use of EOQ - economic order quantities). Resolves discrepancies. Ensures material standards are met and non-conformances or variances are approved and/or minimized. Evaluates vendor reliability and works with partners in supplier management to improve performance.
Job duties are varied and complex utilizing independent judgment. May have project lead role. 3 years relevant work experience. BS/BA preferred.
Responsibilities
Commodity Buyer responsible for purchasing/managing Key Commodities used by Oracle's manufacturing partners to produce Oracle Hardware Systems. Work is complex and often non routine. Interaction across multiple functional areas is required. The Buyer will manage both the supplier of the commodity and the contract/internal manufacturer to resolve issues within the supply chain. The Buyer will partner with the Commodity Planner and Strategic Sourcing Manager to ensure that all facets of the Commodity Supply Chain are set up correctly and functioning properly.
Day to day responsibilities include creating PO's, managing PO's, driving product returns, resolving pricing issues, escalating part shortages, & meeting with key stakeholders.
The qualified candidate will have experience purchasing commodities used in high tech manufacturing and driving suppliers/contract manufacturers to successfully support commodity requirements.

California Pay Range: from $29.86 to $58.17 per hour; from $62,100 to $121,000 per annum. May be eligible for equity.
Colorado Pay Range: from $28.22 to $52.36 per hour; from $58,700 to $108,900 per annum. May be eligible for equity.
New York City Pay Range: from $28.22 to $55.24 per hour; from $58,700 to $114,900 per annum. May be eligible for equity.
Washington Pay Range: from $31.54 to $55.24 per hour; from $65,600 to $114,900 per annum. May be eligible for equity.
Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience and market conditions, as well as reflect Oracle's differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.
