Compensation: $130,000 - $155,000 

Position Summary

Falck USA is seeking a Senior People & Culture Manager to report to the US Head of People and Culture. The Senior P&C Manager will be responsible for taking a leadership role in People & Culture Operations and ensuring compliance with employment laws for Falck USA, with a strong focus on California. This position will also be supporting administrative functional areas as a People & Culture Business Partner with employees in both California and Arizona.

This position is based in Orange, CA, and will require travel to Mesa, AZ approximately once a month.

Essential Functions:

Manage People & Culture Operations.

  • Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Champion collaborative cross-functional relationships (e.g., Talent Acquisition, Payroll, Benefits, Accounting, Operations) to streamline traditional Human Resources-related processes
  • Identify opportunities for improvement in cross-functional processes and, as needed, develop and conduct training to appropriate stakeholders
  • Lead or support implementation of new People & Culture tools and resources across Falck USA
  • Partner with P&C Business Partners, Payroll, Benefits, and Talent Acquisition to support key business initiatives
  • Support the revision/creation, publication, and administration of discretionary company policies and procedures
  • Support implementation of new operations (EMS or otherwise) with P&C operational expertise, training, etc., as needed
  • Other duties, as assigned

Manage Compliance

  • Review existing audit procedures, identify gaps or inconsistencies, and propose enhancements
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, global employment, and safety laws. Partner with the legal department as needed/required
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for Falck Alert (whistleblower line) for USA

Business Partner to a functional area(s). 

  • Provide P&C support to leaders and employees in a functional area(s)
  • Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
  • Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues, including conducting effective, thorough and objective investigations
  • Assist international employees with expatriate assignments and related personnel matters, as needed
  • Provides guidance and input on business unit restructures, workforce planning and succession planning.
  • Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation.
  • Support Leaves of Absences
  • Consult and coach leaders
  • Support employee engagement for the functional area(s)

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor or Master’s degree required in relevant field
  • 7 years in a HR or People leadership role, including managing a team
  • Excellent verbal and written skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Demonstrated experience in project and process management
  • Strong working knowledge of labor and employment laws in California
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Willingness to travel to Mesa, AZ 10% of the time
  • Broad knowledge of core HR areas
  • Effective coaching, consulting, and partnering skills
  • Highly organized and detail oriented
  • Human Resources certification strongly desired
  • Experience working with ADP Vantage strongly desired
  • 2 years’ experience working with a unionized workforce (desired, not required)
