Science Teacher - Middle School
Job Posting for Science Teacher - Middle School at Orange East Supervisory Union
Oxbow Middle/High School is seeking to hire a full-time middle school science teacher starting with the 2024-2025 school year. This is a permanent position which is part of the Orange East Education Association's Collective Bargaining Agreement. The Middle School Science Teacher is responsible for creating a flexible middle level program and a class environment favorable to learning and personal growth. Knowledge of general science and a concentration in Biology is preferred.
The teacher will work to establish effective rapport with students, to motivate students to develop skills, attitudes and knowledge needed to provide a good foundation for continued education in accordance with each students ability, and to establish good relationships with parents and other staff members. A familiarity with project-based and experiential learning is a big plus. To apply for this position interested candidates need to complete the school spring application and include: a cover letter, resume, three current letters of recommendation, transcripts (undergraduate and graduate, if applicable - unofficial transcripts are acceptable), proof of Vermont licensure as either a middle school science teacher 4-19C and/or 7-12 science teacher 2-13 (or proof of the ability to become licensed) and PRAXIS (or the equivalent) test scores.
