Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: 

  • Greets, registers, and assigns rooms to guests. 
  • Issues room key and escort instructions to Bellhop. 
  • Date stamps, sorts, and racks incoming mail and messages. 
  • Transmits and receives telephone messages. 
  • Answers inquiries pertaining to hotel services; registration of guests; and shopping, dining, entertainment, and travel directions. 
  • Keeps records of room availability and guests' accounts. 
  • Computes bill, collects payment, and makes change for guests. 
  • Makes and confirms reservations. 
  • Posts charges such as room, food, liquor, or telephone, to ledger. 
  • Makes restaurant, transportation, or entertainment reservation, and arranges for tours. 
  • Deposits guests' valuables in hotel safe or safe deposit box. 
  • All other duties assigned.

Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Years of Experience 

2 – 3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 

Education 

Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school. 

Preferred Skills  

Microsoft Office including Word, Outlook and Excel, graphic design software and editing, Scheduling, Reservations, working with the public in person and over the phone.

Using computer software applications, e.g., Microsoft Office, to type text, insert pictures, format, edit, print, save; software specific to hotel and restaurant management 

Electronics 

Must be able to operate a camera and accessories such as a tri pod, lights etc. and or video production equipment
