About the Role
Orchard is looking for a Mortgage Quality Control Analyst/Auditor to perform Pre-Fund Quality Control (PFQC) review of residential loans for compliance, credit re-underwriting, data integrity, and fraud misrepresentation; ensuring investor’s guidelines are met. For Post-closing Quality Control (PCQC), working with 3rd party Vendor and Operations to ensure all deficiencies are communicated and addressed. Works closely with Management to ensure file reviews are accurate and service level agreements (SLAs) are met. The primary responsibility is to ensure all loans are compliant, and properly underwritten (and closed), as defined by current FNMA/ FHLMC, FHA, VA, investor, internal, and regulatory guidelines.
This is a full time role that will report into the Director of Compliance and can be based out of our Austin, TX or San Diego, CA offices or have the option to be remote.
What You’ll Do Here:
- Current knowledge of TRID with the ability to calculate fee tolerance cures and the correct waiting period is accurate.
- Interview, hire, onboard, train, direct, lead and manage daily activities of a team of mortgage loan closers
- Daily pipeline management to meet mortgage funding goals and metrics
- Assist, mentor and motivate team members to meet or exceed daily, monthly, quarterly, and yearly goals, KPIs and SLAs
- Enforce adherence to investor guidelines and state and federal regulations to ensure the future salability of mortgage loans
- Serve as escalation point for loan level issues in a professional manner
- Contribute to the ground-up build-out of our mortgage closing workflow
- Collaborate with internal teams to create solutions for challenging scenarios
- Foster a team environment that is in line with Orchard Values and Culture
- Assess current team processes and procedures, identify opportunities for improvement, and implement them to maintain accurate loan files, closing disclosures, and closing documents
- Collaborate with cross-functional leaders/teams and Director of Mortgage Operations to continuously iterate on and improve upon processes
- Track, analyze, and communicate team and individual performance data
- Identify knowledge gaps within the team and develop a plan to fulfill them
We’d Love to Hear From You if You Have:
- 1 years of closing management experience
- 4 years of experience in high volume purchase mortgage loan closing
- Ability to manage and monitor the performance of others and provide quality coaching to improve performance
- Strong problem-solving, organizational, and project management skills
- Expert knowledge of mortgage systems
- Superior customer services skills
- Experience with outsourcing fulfillment closing services preferred
- Experience managing teams located both inside and outside the US preferred
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, in relating to internal and external clients
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high production environment
- The drive to build something new that will change the real estate industry
