Are you a strategic leader with experience completing multi-level deployments and in-depth knowledge of the Apple ecosystem, including macOS and iOS architecture? The Oregon Department of Agriculture (ODA) is hiring a Chief Information Officer (CIO) to support the mission ensure healthy natural resources, environment, and economy for Oregonians. A successful CIO will be a dedicated and collaborative team leader of talented employees with the opportunity to modernize our technology systems.
What you’ll be doing:
In the Chief Information Manager 2 role, your work will focus on continuing to modernize the agency’s technology systems within the framework of our Mac-based computer technology. Through your commitment to ODA’s mission, vision, and values, you'll work to promote increased internal customer service, considering how customers engage with ODA’s systems and technology, and lead the agency’s growth in IT modernization, integration, and continual compliance.
  • The Chief Information Manager 2 is the primary advisor to the agency's leadership on the emerging technologies and digital trends most relevant to the agency's goals and evolving needs.
  • This position leads the implementation of information technology initiatives that drive the agency's strategic plan and is responsible for implementing systems supporting the agency's business operations.
  • The Chief Information Manager, 2 at ODA, oversees agency-wide data management and guides the division to develop, maintain, and implement sound and integrated IT architecture as part of their data management and governance responsibilities.
  • You will plan, guide, monitor, and evaluate the work of the IT division through the development and execution of an IT Strategic Plan with long and short-term goals.
  • Provide technical expertise of the agency's technology systems, including Apple/Mac ecosystem expertise.

What we’re looking for:
Six years of supervision, management, or progressively related experience; OR three years of related experience and a bachelor's degree in a related field. In addition, you must be well knowledgeable in the Mac OS system, Microsoft 365, and technology security best practices.
We’re Also Looking for Someone Who:
Has experience providing leadership and direction for information technology staff evaluating, coaching, and developing staff to enhance expertise.
Has managed the modification and maintenance of existing information systems and the initiation of new information systems.
Proven track record and experience in establishing IT services framework (ITIL) and information security policies/ procedures, as well as successfully executing programs that meet the objectives of the ODA's strategic plan.
Proven experience growing an organization toward IT modernization, integration, and continual compliance.
Ability to build relationships across an organization and with colleagues at external organizations, to develop collaborative partnerships
