The Switchboard Receptionist is important to department success because they set the stage for a great patient experience with their calm and efficient professionalism. Switchboard Receptionists greet incoming callers, assess their need, and facilitate a smooth transition to the next appropriate step in their care. This key position requires good judgment, a compassionate, professional demeanor, and an ability to efficiently multitask.

Essential Job Functions

  • Greet incoming callers in a friendly, professional manner
  • Lightly triage to determine appropriate course of action
  • Ensure patient information is accurate in our patient database
  • Effectively communicate and collaborate with team members to a create a smooth workflow
  • Complete other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 1 year medical office experience
  • Ability to answer calls quickly and efficiently
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to communicate in a professional manner
  • Ability to maintain calm demeanor while multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment
  • Attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2 years medical office experience
  • Familiarity with medical terminology
  • Bilingual
