What are the responsibilities and job description for the ASOSU Disabled Student Pilot Lounge Coordinator position at Oregon State University?
This recruitment will be used to fill one part-time (a maximum of 20 hours per week) ASOSU Disabled Student Pilot Lounge Coordinator for the Associated Students of Oregon State University (ASOSU) at Oregon State University (OSU).
The Disabled Student Pilot Lounge Coordinator serves as an independent employee of the ASOSU Executive Branch to facilitate the pilot program for the Disability Cultural Lounge. Lounge coordinators main responsibilities will be to manage and oversee the operations of ASOSU’s pilot lounges, organize and host events, and create outreach strategies aimed at increasing student participation.

Due to the restricted time frame and hours allocated for ASOSU’s advocacy efforts, the duties listed below may be subject to change or modification based on evolving requirements, emergent situations, or circumstances.
Hourly Rate: $16.24
- Manage the operations of the lounge spaces and lead events and programming occuring in the lounge spaces;
- Keep record of participation in lounge and lounge-hosted events;
- Operate the lounge with consistent hours of operation and consistent staffing; Keep up to date with programs, groups, and resources pertaining to diversity and inclusion on campus and in the broader community, particularly focused on the communities served;
- Engage with members of the identified community(ies) to gather data on potential resource space needs and how these programs can best be adapted to serve them; Work to provide opportunities for input and involvement in ASOSU for students of underrepresented backgrounds, communities, and/or perspectives;
- Collaborate with relevant stakeholders in OSU and identify avenues for partnership;
Administrative Tasks:
- Report to the Deputy Chief of Staff and Chief of Staff concerning updates and research conducted within pilot lounge spaces; meet regularly with Deputy Chief of Staff;
- Work regularly with the Diversity and Inclusion team; regularly attend their meetings;
- Work regularly with the Diversity and Inclusion team; regularly attend their meetings;
- Meet regularly with the committee to keep them updated with the program’s progress;
- Meet regularly with ASOSU faculty advisor;
- Other Duties as assigned.

- Must be academically enrolled in a high school, community college, or university and pursuing a program or course of study
- Must meet Academic Standing Requirements; students on academic suspension are not eligible for employment
- Must meet the applicable minimal enrollment standard
- High School student: Regularly enrolled in a high school or participating in a home-schooling program
- Undergraduate and post-baccalaureate student: 6 credit hours per term
- Undergraduate international student: 12 credit hours per term*
- Graduate student officially admitted to Graduate School: 5 credit hours per term
- Graduate international student officially admitted to Graduate School: 9 credit hours per term*
- International students may be allowed to carry fewer hours than specified above and still be considered “full-time” by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). A reduced course load is approved by the Office of International Services (OIS), and must be provided to the Student Employment Center.
- Must be available for training for the week of August 7th;
- A commitment to promoting and advancing diversity and creating an atmosphere of inclusion; communication skills in areas including but not limited to interpersonal, public speaking, digital, verbal, and written communications;
- Ability to manage time and employees; work amid interruptions to meet a deadline;
- Work well under pressure, exercising flexibility, initiative, good judgment, and discretion;
- Willingness to be adaptable, to accept changes and try new things;
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team; Ability to delegate tasks appropriately.
- Experience working with ASOSU, or other organizations focusing on student advocacy, campus involvement, diversity and inclusion, or other related areas.
