Warehouse and Distribution Team Lead (Upton WY)
The Warehouse and Distribution Team Lead manages the handling of products in a safe, efficient and effective manner by employing professional supply chain processes; review distribution operational performance to ensure they comply with appropriate local and national regulations, Orica model procedures, Supply Chain Checkpoint Audits, Group Mandates, review of customer supply chains and develop appropriate logistics solutions to meet agreed service levels.
What you will do
- Ensures optimal site efficiency within the region while complying with regulatory requirements
- Ensures accurate inventory accountability, optimal stock rotation and efficient material flow
- Performs stock takes as per company guidelines and documents any variations or findings
- Conducts monthly safety reviews with contractors and associates
- Ensures the working environment and operating procedures for the transport, storage and handling of finished goods are safe
- Ensure that contractors and employees comply with company safety standards and statutory regulations.
- Develops economic alternatives for distribution systems to meet customer expectations and meet agreed service levels
- Undertakes distribution planning to meet regulatory requirements
- Ensures contractors align to relevant contracts.
- Liaises with relevant statutory bodies to ensure compliance.
- Drive small capital projects through budget requests, contractor engagement, procurement and project management
Safety, Health and Environmental (SHE)
- Develops, implements and audits SHE and Security plans for business and all contractors on site
- Responds to all emergencies within allocated precinct.
- Develops and implements annual SHE plans in line with Regional Supply Chain guidelines
- Analyses and manages the appropriate management of waste disposal for Bulk Products
- Safe load and unloading of rail cars/trailers
- Previous knowledge of regulations for handling hazmat materials
People Interactions
- Oversight of team of 3-4 people
- Provides information, instructions, training and supervision to contractors and distribution personnel
- Conducts Supply Chain Checkpoint Audits on contractors and develop strategies to improve performance.
- Develops and monitors action plans to deliver superior contractor and driver performance.
Work Environment
- Work from heights, dusty and dirty environment
- Working outside in year round weather
- Office duties including reconciling inventory / daily movements of product
What you bring
- Experienced in managing warehouse/transload environment involvement in every day team work
- Proven experience leading a small team with daily metrics
- Successful interaction with other department such as supply chain, production and procurement teams
- A high degree of ethics and independence is compulsory.
- Highly organized and internal/external customer focused
- Previous knowledge of regulations for handling hazmat materials
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations
- Knowledge of railroad operations / DOT transportation
- Previous equipment operation
Qualifications
- Relevant degree or experience related to business management or supply chain
- Basic understanding of MRP and knowledge of SAP (or other ERP systems)
- Advanced skill in Microsoft Word & Excel required
Compensation Range
- Salary Rate $70,200 - $80,000
- Eligible for annual short-term incentive plan
(Salary to be determined by the applicant’s experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.)
